In Matthew 22:37-38, Christ, in answering the Pharisees question regarding the “first and great commandment,” told them: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” I would not think this a commandment to be ignored, let us pray that the people of God will hear and obey, starting with us.
