humanity and orderly conduct. Jack’s savagery makes him incapable of being a good leader. Jack does not care for the well being of the group and is responsible for the deaths of Simon and Piggy. Ralph cares for the well being of the group by insisting on keeping the fire lit. When we look at the definition of a leader, Ralph’s caring attitude makes him most capable of being in command of others.
