of understanding the book. The film definitely lacks the ingredients. Unlike some food films, this one doesn’t make the mouth water; instead, it leaves the viewer with a yearning of a better film. This may be a bit direct unlike Jonathan Romney’s critique who almost apologizes to the reader: “Maybe Mexican food doesn’t agree with me…” but the film is in for a need of being basted with better ingredients and flavor.
