not doubt that the Roebling family, including John, felt some personal pride during and after the bridges creation. Then again, who wouldn’t, it was the first of its kind, and a great achievement to be remembered for all times. But Roebling did not care for the praise and worship, and he clearly designed and built the bridge with the New York people in mind and died because of his dedication to the Brooklyn Bridge.
