Britain, Russia, and France, large factors in everyone’s life for so long, were now basically out of the picture. Politics had changed so much in just a hundred years, new leaders being instituted, old ones kicked out. The Ottoman empire, which had existed for so long, was wiped out, and they had new found independence. It was a confusing and trying time.
