Iago’s desire for power, and willingness do anything to obtain it, led to the deaths of those around him. Iago manipulated Othello, Desdemona, and Cassio by using emotions such as anger and jealousy. His methods of deceit fostered his rise to power, and led to the demise of Othello, Desdemona, and Roderigo. Iago desired and obtained the power he sought, but ironically destroyed the substance of his power.
