…showed last 75 words of 767 total…they have not been communicating well until the time in which this poem takes place. This appears to be the only time they have actually exchanged their ideas and feelings about their son’s to each other. People who do not communicate well just tend to drift apart. The reader is not assured that this marriage will regain the closeness it might have had prior to the death of the of the couple’s son.
