…Ho began to have heart problems. On September 3, 1969 at 9:47 A.M., Ho Chi Minh died of a heart attack at the age of seventy-nine. People in Vietnam thought of Ho as their greatest hero. His body was laid at the spot where he gave his Independence Speech in 1946. 10,000 people came to see him one last time, all wearing black bands to remember his death. The city of Saigon was later named Ho Chi Minh City.
