History of Olympics
The Olympic Games began at Olympia in Greece in 776 B.C. The Greek calendar was based on the Olympiad, it came every four years. Olympia was in the valley of Elis. The Olympic Flag was created by Pierre de Coubertin in 1914, it contains five interconnected rings on a white background. The five rings symbolize the five continents around the world.
