Hamlet is Shakespeare’s most well known and performed play. There are two scenes that
I believe are important in the play. One of them are when the ghost speaks to Hamlet and the
other when Hamlet holds a skull.
In Act I, Scene 5, the ghost first speaks to Hamlet.
“I am thy father’s spirit
Doomed for a certain term to walk the night
And for the day confined to fast in fires

Here Hamlet remembers as a child his close relationship to Yorick, and confronts the physical
results of death. This being Hamlet’s first physical encounter with a dead person theat he held
close to his heart, changed the way he perceives death.
In conclusion, I feel these two scenes were of great importance in the play Hamlet because
they mark the beginning and the end to his tragic life.
