Sunset Concert
On November 1, 2002 Loyola Marymount held its annual sunset concert in Gersten Pavilion. This years performers included two hip-hop acts, City High and Eve. The performers for this year were up in the air for much of the month and the organizers were tossing back and forth ideas with the school, the school subsequently denied most requests…surprise huh? a very stylistic outbreak from the normal presentation from many hip-hop performers. They have a form of message rap set so that they present a positive image to their fans. Though when Bob Dylan and other artists that we have discussed in class have a different message in their music of fighting for rights and protesting war and politics it is similar in moving a group of young people listening to a form of entertainment.
