By January of 1917, the people of Russia were fed up with many aspects of their life, including not being fed. The revolution was finally ready, incited by popular leaders with devout followers and years worth of history leading up to the revolution.

On September 4th, Leon Trotsky and the other Bolshevik leaders are released from prison and welcomed back. Ten days later, Karensky holds the Democratic Conference, a meeting of socialists and government parties intended to end the growing unrest. The Bolsheviks walk out, unhappy with the terms, and the conference ended with a vote for a third provisional government.
