…hers. Women’s role in society has changed dramatically since the late 1800’s. While social equality has not been fully attained women do hold equal rights in the eye of the law. It is illegal in the U.S. for a person to be denied equal opportunity based on race, religion, or gender. Of course despite these legalities, in 1996 studies showed that women who worked full time jobs earned only $.74 for every $1.00 earned by men.
