The Sumerian Empire seems to have the oldest dates out of all the items that I researched. The name “Sumer” first began to be used in the 3rd millennium BCE. Sargon 1st conquered Sumer in 2335-2279. It then became known as Akkad when Hammurvadi of Babylonia defeated the ruler of Sumer, Rim-Sin (1823-1765).

height until the 1st century BCE. Some divide this flourishing time of Roman into two periods, 1st c. BCE as the Golden Age, and the 1st c. CE as the silver. Vergil’s Aeneid, Ovid’s Metamorphoses, Livy’s Ab Urbe Condita, as well as works by Seneca, Statius, and Flaccus, all come out of this time span. And so ends this chronology, each period overlapping and drawing on the one before it.
