Giving 18 year olds their “forbidden fruit” would most likely eliminate drinking for the sole purpose of rebelling against authority. Also, is seems obvious that role modeling would teach responsible drinking younger ages. With a persons 18th birthday comes many consequential responsibilities, and legally buying and drinking alcohol should be amongst them.
