I had a goldfish for a year. It died. My dad flushed it down the toilet. I had a dog for two days. It whined. My mom gave it away. My mourning periods for both (death of fish, loss of dog) were of considerable length. Yet, if I have the chance, I still want a fish. Or if not, a dog.

than a dog. One may even suggest that the fish be deep-fried and consumed.
As for similarities, dogs and fish both grow fat when overfed, eventually die, and die sooner when overfed. Quite sad. But if I have the chance, I would like to have a fish or a dog again¡Xto feed it, love it, and eventually blubber over its lifeless body¡Xthat is, if I outlive it.
