From the very first page, Niccolo Machiavelli’s book, The Prince, contains data that can be compared to the ideals of today. The Prince describes the qualities one needs to be a strong, efficient, and successful ruler. It discusses ways a leader can maintain his kingdom and how to gain control of new land. Although I have only named a few of these qualities which are necessary in the past, the present, and most likely in the future, there are many more. The qualities that a person needs in order to be a great ruler are the same no matter what time period you are in. Machiavelli’s book, although written long ago, could be used by a person in a high rank today.
