They had set out to abolish it. But the south was growing very rich off it. …

…the whole thing was that no one died. It was just firing that happened. The next day the United States declared war on the Confederates. The real war of wills was just beginning. President Lincoln was not in office to weeks and he was at war. But now it was more important. It was no longer for a fort but for a country. Davis had won the battle but the war was far from over.
