The Colonies decided to break from Britain for several proposed reasons. These reasons are proposed because we aren’t exactly sure what happened at that time, we weren’t there. …American Revolution emerged. First, with the ending of the French and Indian War, Britain was faced with a huge debt that needed to be filled. Next, when the British tried to tighten their grip on the colonists by taxation, the Americans fought back. Finally, power-hungry colonial assemblies didn’t want to see their power taken away by British Government. All of these reasons give clear evidence of why Americans moved for independence from Great Britain.
