American Revolution emerged. First, with the ending of the French and Indian War, Britain was faced with a huge debt that needed to be filled. Next, when the British tried to tighten their grip on the colonists by taxation, the Americans fought back. Finally, power-hungry colonial assemblies didn’t want to see their power taken away by British Government. All of these reasons give clear evidence of why Americans moved for independence from Great Britain.
