What was Christopher Columbus?

It is easy for some to ignore the fact that Columbus could have been the first discoverer of the ‘New World’, for it was already inhabited by people who resented foreigners taking over their territories, killing and enslaving them. I believe that Columbus was a discoverer, villain, and victim of circumstance at various times and through the eyes of various people.
