Child Labor by definition is work for children that harms them or exploits them in some way. It is a social problem that is usually associated with capitalism and industrial production. It made its presence very strongly during the Industrial Revolution (1). It is a piece of U.S. history that is not talked about much. Nevertheless it’s a significant part of our past.

an employer or a parent can see a child exert themselves to the grueling task of working every day rather than going to school. I do understand that we are living in a different time period and that should have an influence on my point of view. However it is hard for me to keep an open mind when I see some of the images of these children with those sad expressions on their faces.
