Some associate the legend of Atlantis with the Greek island Thira, which experienced a massive volcanic eruption about 1500BC. Other theories have been based on archaeological discoveries that have variously identified the island with Crete, the Canary Islands, the Scandinavian Peninsula, and the Americas. Hopefully someday we will find out if the legend of Atlantis is a myth of a fact.
