Anthem is a very controversial novel in which Ayn Rand depicts the contempt she feels towards a totalitarian society. Anthem shows what could be in store for us if we continue the way we are going. Throughout the novelette, the romantic relationship between Prometheus and Gaea blossoms into something amazing that words can’t describe. Equality breaks through the brainwashing that the institution enforces, despite the numerous struggles within himself. His victory of escaping is made possible through his hate for the society and his determination and knowledge.
